Reception found where India is on a globe, atlas and google maps. They also watched the route a plane would take from England to India.
They compared things like weather, clothes, food etc and sorted them into England and India. They also sampled some Indian foods such as onion bhajis, vegetable samosas and poppadoms with mango chutney. 

Reception also explored some clothes and photos from an India celebration. The children loved the clothes, as they were colourful and sparkly and some of the girls also loved trying them on.
They also had a go at creating their own Mehndi handprints and Rangoli patterns.
