A Supportive and High-Achieving Learning Environment
Forest Glade Primary School serves a wonderful community, welcoming families from within and beyond our catchment area. With 209 pupils (234 including Nursery) on roll, we offer single-class entry for each year group and additional Nursery provision, ensuring a close-knit learning environment where every child is known and valued.
We are proud of our track record of high achievement. Our school consistently ranks among the top-performing schools nationally for attainment in Key Stage 2, placing in the top 1% in 2022 and the top 2% in 2024 for combined Reading, Writing, and Maths. Despite the challenges of serving an area where some families experience a high level of deprivation, our pupils excel academically, supported by a curriculum designed to inspire and challenge them.
Dedicated and Passionate Staff
Our supportive and skilled staff are passionate about delivering engaging, memorable, and inspirational learning experiences. We recognise the unique potential of each child and tailor our approach to ensure all pupils receive the support they need to succeed. Through ongoing professional development and collaboration with the Flying High Partnership, our educators continuously refine their practice to provide the highest quality education.
We believe in equipping children not only with strong academic foundations but also with the social and emotional skills needed for lifelong success. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our high staff retention rates and strong leadership structure, ensuring stability and continued progress.
An Inclusive and Aspirational Community
Forest Glade is more than just a school; it is a community hub where children, families, and staff work together to foster aspiration and achievement. We celebrate diversity and inclusion, ensuring all pupils feel valued and supported. Our curriculum is enriched with opportunities to explore different cultures, traditions, and perspectives, preparing children for a global society.
We actively support families through collaborations with external agencies, such as social care and mental health services, ensuring a holistic approach to education. Our focus on wellbeing is further strengthened by our Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA), trained Mental Health Lead, and dedicated safeguarding team.
Innovative Teaching and Learning
We are committed to providing a forward-thinking curriculum that integrates technology and real-world learning experiences. Our recent investment in a 1:1 iPad initiative for Years 1-6 enhances engagement and supports independent learning. In addition, our EYFS outdoor learning space and subject-specific curriculum adaptations ensure all children, including those with SEND, have access to high-quality, inclusive education.
To support our commitment to excellence in literacy and numeracy, we have implemented Power Maths and a Systematic Synthetic Phonics scheme, contributing to outstanding outcomes in phonics and early reading.
A Commitment to Character and Personal Development
Beyond academics, we place great emphasis on character development and social responsibility. Our pupils engage in a wide range of enrichment activities, from sports and creative arts to leadership opportunities such as our Pupil Parliament and Play Leaders program. We also encourage community engagement through initiatives like food bank donations, environmental projects, and intergenerational connections with local care homes.
Our behaviour expectations are high, with a strong focus on restorative approaches and positive reinforcement. This has resulted in outstanding behaviour across the school, with no recorded suspensions in the last 13 years.
I am proud to be the headteacher of such a wonderful, inclusive school.
